Woman arrested after several downtown hit-and-runs

New Orleans, La. -

A 34-year-old woman allegedly struck at least four vehicles, including an Orleans Parish deputy's cruiser, and kept on rolling before she was arrested in a downtown hotel parking garage Tuesday evening.

Yashika Calvey faces several charges, including hit and run, suspended license, reckless operation of a vehicle and child endangerment.  "Her 6-year-old daughter was inside of the vehicle during the incident and was not injured," reads a brief statement by NOPD.

Police say, around 5:15 Tuesday evening, Calvey struck two vehicles on Camp and Poydras Streets, and continued without stopping. 

"A Sheriff Deputy spotted her strike another vehicle traveling at Canal and Decatur St," the NOPD statement continues.  "The Deputy activated his lights and siren and followed the car to the Hilton Riverside parking ramp at which time she backed into the Sheriff Deputy's car."

One driver complained of back injury after one of the collisions.
