City warns after traffic delays near Loyola Ave. construction

FOX 8 News received this press release from city officials Tuesday evening:

Today, the City of New Orleans issued a traffic advisory for the Central Business District as crews move into the final phase of the Loyola Avenue streetcar line. Commuters and motorists can expect intermittent street closures at Loyola Avenue and Howard Avenue and Loyola Avenue and Julia Street due to asphalt resurfacing. Residents are encouraged to avoid this area if at all possible.

Street closures are subject to change pending weather conditions. The project is scheduled for completion at the end of January 2013.
