Police search for man wanted in Algiers shooting

New Orleans, La.- The New Orleans Police Department is looking for 20-year-old Darius Byrd who is wanted for two counts of aggravated battery by shooting that occurred on December 22 in the 2900 block of Lawrence Street.  

Investigators say Byrd produced a handgun and fired several shots striking two individuals following a dispute. Police say the victims' wounds were not life threatening. 

Byrd is also wanted for an outstanding Municipal Attachment and has previously been arrested for possession of stolen property and trespassing.      

Police say 20-year-old Jasmine Reaux has already been arrested and booked with principal to aggravated battery for her involvement in the incident. 

Anyone with any information on Byrd's whereabouts is urged to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 822-1111.
