Pearl River, La. - A driver on the North Shore escaped unharmed after his vehicle became submerged in Thursday's floodwaters.
A spokesman with St. Tammany Fire Protection District 11 says the driver was traveling along I-59 southbound near mile marker 4 when his truck became nearly submerged in the rising waters along the tree line off the shoulder of the interstate.
The unidentified male driver was able to escape from the window of his vehicle and get to safety along the shoulder.
