Slidell, La. - Slidell officers will be allowed to wear special badges to commemorate the NFL's biggest game being played in New Orleans.
The badges had to be approved by NOPD Chief Ronal Serpas and made available to police agencies that will assist the New Orleans Police Department.
Slidell officers will help provide security on Super Bowl Sunday before, during and after the game.
Slidell Police Chief Randy Smith said, "I am very excited about being able to take part in such a large national event and look forward to being able to showcase the professional men and women of the Slidell Police Department as they assist with this widely watched event."
Officers who paid $94.00 will be allowed to wear the commemorative badges from January 14th to February 12th, 2013.
