Three escape from overnight fire in Lower Garden District

New Orleans, La. -

Firefighters investigate the cause of a three-alarm fire in the Lower Garden District.

The fire broke out around 11:15 p.m. Thursday in the 1200 block of Josephine Street.  When firefighters arrived they found the home engulfed in flames.

Fire investigators say three adults who were in the home were able to escape.  No one was injured, but the home was completely destroyed by the fire.

The Red Cross is assisting the displaced family.

Investigators are working to determine what caused the fire.
