Motorcyclist dies after striking 18-wheeler in St. Bernard Parish

Chalmette, La -- Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop B are investigating an accident that left a motorcyclist dead. The accident occurred Saturday at 5:30 p.m. on St. Bernard Highway near Coffee Drive in Chalmette. The victim has been identified as Maxime Daboval Jr., 64, of Chalmette.

Police say that the Daboval and an 18-wheeler, driven by Terry Dunn of Mississippi, were traveling westbound on St. Bernard Highway. As Dunn attempted a U-turn near Coffee Drive, the Daboval struck the side of the 18-wheeler.

Daboval died on the scene. Dunn was arrested and booked in the St. Bernard Parish Jail on negligent homicide and improper turning charges.
