New Orleans, La - The people charged with keeping the peace at your favorite night spot will soon be required by the state to train for their job. A state law passed in August of 2012 will require all of those who have a security role to take a state authorized training program by May of this year.
ABSEC LLC is a state authorized trainer for the Responsible Vendor Security Training Program. Sunday, trainers spent the day at Rick's Sporting Saloon on Bourbon Street. The two hour course is 50 dollars per person.
The goal is to teach them how to handle all types of disturbances in a way that keeps situations from escalating. The trainers with ABSEC LLC all have military, law enforcement or martial arts backgrounds. They also have extensive experience in club security.
