Man arrested in string of St. Bernard vehicle burglaries

Chalmette, La. - Deputies arrest a Chalmette man they say broke into 11 vehicles on the same day.

Saint Bernard Parish deputies initially booked 33 year old Jason Knight with two burglaries after a witness reported watching Knight get in and out of two vehicles on Octavia Street early Sunday morning.

Investigators say they were able to link nine other burglaries to Knight.

Sheriff Jimmy Pohlmann warns residents to lock their vehicles.

He says nearly all of the ones burglarized were unlocked.
