Kenner, La. - The Kenner Police Department has identified the man whose body was found floating in the Mississippi River at mile marker 114 along River Road.
FOX 8 News received this press release from KPD Wednesday afternoon:
A body found in the Mississippi River, in Kenner, has been tentatively identified as Ronald Miller, Sr., 39, from Boutte, in St. Charles Parish.
At approximately 01:18 p.m., the Kenner Police Department received a telephone call from the U.S. Coast Guard, requesting an area check by mile marker 114 on the riverbank. U.S. Coast Guard reported receiving a telephone call from a barge operator reporting the sighting of a body floating in the Mississippi River. Officers responding to the location, near Pollock Street and the river, located a body in the Mississippi River, between a barge and the riverbank.
Miller was identified from tattoo information provided by the St. Charles Sheriff's Office. Miller was reported missing in St. Charles Parish, on December 28, 2012. At the of this press release cause of death remains undetermined. An autopsy will be performed by the Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office, on Wednesday, January 17, 2013.
