They're a daily necessity in the modern age but are cell phones now a major source of germs making people sick. Some health experts are now asking cell phone owners to clean their mobile device to stop the spread of the flu.
More studies show our cell phones can be layered with staph bacteria, fecal bacteria, and various viruses that can transmit pinkeye infections, diarrhea, colds, and, according to the American Academy of Family Physicians, even the flu.
While you can't use liquid to clean it because its bad for your phones' electronics, there are other things you can use. First, they suggest you pick up some soft, lint-free cotton wipes from a local pharmacy, hardware or electronics store, and moisten the cloth with disinfectant.
Then check the manufacturers instruction for cleaning the phone to make sure they don't have specific disinfecting advice. If there isn't any, then turnoff your phone or unplug it from any outlet and begin the claiming process.
Use the dampened soft cloth to carefully clean the screen and keyboard. You may not get all the bugs, but you'll get a lot of it by doing it once a week, especially if you or a loved one is sick with a cold ; also clean it again if an infected person touches the phone.
Finally one good piece of advice, avoid sharing or using your cell phone while using the restroom.
