North Shore teen killed in accident identified

Covington, La - The St. Tammany Parish Coroner identifies the North Shore teenager who died after being struck by a vehicle as 16-year-old Justin Addison.

The accident occurred Monday around 5:00 p.m. at the intersection of Josephine St. and the St. Tammany Trace in Covington.

Police say that responding officers and medical personnel arrived on scene and began rending aid to the teenager. Addison was transported to St. Tammany Parish Hospital with internal injuries.

Through their investigation, Traffic Division deputies learned that Addison was riding a bicycle east on the Trace when he ran the stop sign at Josephine St. before colliding with an SUV, driven by a Covington resident. The driver of the SUV was cleared of fault in the crash.

Just after midnight, hospital officials notified police that Addison died from his injuries.

Below zero temperatures on Friday and Saturday. No one should have to deal with this nastiness. Next week, fans of New England, Philadelphia, and corporate types will be dealing with this blustery weather. But they shouldn't have to. This game should be a relief from the cold, a vacation with shorts involved. I know Minneapoli...
