New Orleans, La.- Galatoire's welcomes carnival royalty for lunch to cries of "Hail Barkus!"

The Mystic Krewe of Barkus enjoyed a traditional pre-parade lunch with champagne toasts for the humans and specially prepared fine cuisine for the canine king and queen.

King Barkus XXI is Jacques Miller Wallis, a Vizsla owned by Virginia Miller and Bruce Wallis.

This year's Queen of Barkus is rescued Great Dane Hattie Warner.

The Barkus parade wags its way through the French Quarter Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm to the theme, "Tails & Tiaras: Here Comes Honey Bow Wow."
