Kenner, La. -

Firefighters worked for hours to put out a two-alarm fire at a business Tuesday evening.

The Kenner Fire Department says it got a call at 6:25 p.m. about the fire on 24th Street, in a 8,000-sq. foot metal structure housing the business office and warehouse of a printer parts manufacturer.  Four hours later, firefighters were still putting out hot spots in the building, which one fire official described as a probable total loss.

Residents several blocks away from the scene called FOX 8 News to report thick smoke and an acrid smell resulting from the blaze.

The business owner was in the building when the fire started, but neither he nor any of the firefighters were injured.

KFD has yet to determine the cause of the fire.
