Gov. Bobby Jindal told lawmakers opening their annual legislative session Monday that Louisiana's biggest challenge was making sure it has enough workers to fill the jobs his administration has helped attract to the state.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A line of severe thunderstorms packing high winds moved across north Louisiana, causing damage to several homes and downing trees and power lines. No injuries have been reported.
The National Weather Service says most of the damage occurred along the Interstate 20 corridor late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. A tree fell on a home in Union Parish and winds caused damage to a home and barn in West Carroll Parish.
Trees are down in Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Bienville, Lincoln, Jackson, Ouachita, Morehouse and Richland parishes. The weather service says trees took down power lines in several of those parishes.
