Thibodaux, La. - Police in Thibodaux have arrested a man for simple burglary.
A spokesman with the Thibodaux Police Department says on January 25, around 12:30 p.m. officers on bicycles saw 42 year-old Charles Cole riding a bike towards them on East 12th Street with several air conditioning coils on his handle bars.
When Cole saw Police, he quickly turned around and began pedaling in the opposite direction to avoid them. When Officers caught up to Cole, he admitted that he had just burglarized a residence in the 1200 Block of Goode Street and had stolen the coils.
Officers went to the residence and found the home owner had just arrived home. Cole was related to the victim, but they still wished to pursue charges.
Cole was arrested and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center.
