New Orleans, La. - Someone injured City Park's only black swan and broke her five eggs.

Park administrators say the attack happened sometime between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. The black swan had been taking care of her nest and eggs over the past few weeks.

A City Park police officer called a veterinarian when he found the black swan with an injured ankle. The swan is now being cared for at the veterinarian's clinic. A news release from the park states, "with antibiotics and regular change of dressings, it is hoped that the swan will make a full recovery."

City Park and the New Orleans Museum of Art are offering a $1,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction of the person or persons who injured the swan.

If you have any information call City Park Police Chief Billy Bayle at (504) 421-9307.
