FOX 8 received this news release from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office Thursday evening:
Members of the JPSO Robbery Section are currently investigating three robbery incidents that occurred in the Waggaman and Marrero areas. They are believed to be related. The first incident occurring Sunday at Live Oak and Willswood in Waggaman. In this incident the victim was stopped due to a flat tire. The suspect approached and demanded the victim exit his vehicle. The victim refused and fled. The suspect fired a number of shots hitting the car multiple times. In the second armed robbery, two suspects robbed two people. They took two vehicles as well as other property. This occurred in the 400 block of Dandelion in Waggaman Wednesday morning around 12:45. One vehicle was recovered later that day near 941 Carmadelle Street in Marrero. The second stolen vehicle was used in the final attempted armed robbery about 14 hours later. During this incident, a victim was shot while trying to intervene in the robbery in the 5000 block of Richland.. All five suspects fled in a pick-up truck. Three were in the cab and two rode in the bed of the stolen truck. The driver crashed a few blocks away, and they got away.
All of the victims are white. Five are males and one is a female. The number of suspects varies between one and five. All of the suspects are black males, 15 to 20 years of age. Heights range from 5'3" to 5'9" and the build is more commonly described as thin. The suspects are armed, one with a sliver or silver and black semi-automatic pistol and one with a revolver.
These suspects should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone developing information regarding the identity of these suspects is asked to contact the JPSO Robbery Section at 504-364-5376 or Crimestoppers.
