Thousands line the parade route as Endymion excitement builds up

New Orleans, LA -- It's the day parade lovers have been waiting for, Hail Endymion as the Super Krewe takes over the streets of New Orleans.

But before their krewe members' big ride, thousands packed the neutral ground on Orleans Avenue for Samedi Gras.

Parade goers get a preview of the Endymion floats as they roll up Orleans Avenue, while others enjoy the sights, the sounds and the thrills of the Samedi Gras Festival.

"This year is fantastic," says Endymion Krewe Member Clifford Tassin.

Fans of the party, before the big party dance to the live music on the Orleans Avenue neutral ground.

This year's festival features three New Orleans rock bands, The Topcats, Groovy 7 and the Bucktown All Stars.

They know how to get the crowd ready for Endymion.

"The weather is nice, beautiful day, a lot of people going out. I'm going to throw everything I have, just throw it all out," says Endymion Krewe Member, Greg Dinicola.

The Super Krewe rolls down its traditional Mid-City route with 25 marching bands and what seems like countless floats.
