One-alarm fire damages Uptown bar

Updated:

New Orleans, La - A one-alarm fire damaged an Uptown bar Saturday morning. The fire started around 2:15 a.m. Saturday at F&M Patio Bar in the 4800 block of Tchoupitoulas St.

An NOFD spokesperson says that the small fire started in the kitchen. It was under control around 2:32 a.m. and completely extinguished at 2:55 a.m.

Bar owner Blake Avery says that people were inside of the bar when the fire started, but everyone made it out without any trouble and no injuries have been reported. Repairs are already underway to fix the establishment. Avery says that he would like to reopen the bar as soon as possible.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
