Suspects in Uptown rape, kidnapping to be tried as adults

New Orleans, La. - A judge has ruled there is probable cause against the teenagers accused in the rape, kidnapping and beating of a woman in the Garden District several days ago.

Orleans Parish District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro says he is considering trying the teens as adults.

Investigators say 15 year-old Sheldon Jefferson and 16 year-old Joseph Davis along with 18 year-old Christopher Davis kidnapped a 30 year-old woman they beat and raped her as they drove around with her for nearly an hour on February 4th.

The suspects then dropped her off near the intersection of Chestnut and 8th Street and stole her silver Honda Accord.
