NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Orleans police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident. The accident happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of South Claiborne Avenue and Amelia Street.
Police say the unidentified pedestrian was crossing the eastbound lanes of South Claiborne when he was struck by a dark gray Chevrolet Avalanche.
Investigators say the driver of the Avalanche drove off with possible front-end damage.
