Grand Isle, La.-A contractor will access the extent of damage to the line that carries water from Lafitte to Grand Isle.

Jefferson Parish Councilman Chris Roberts says they believe a vessel struck the line about two miles off the island.

Crews will work to get the line clamped and then fixed.

In the meantime, Roberts says all of the island's water tanks are full. He says there should be plenty of water to last residents until the repair is complete.

There was a great deal of concern about water supplies when this happened the last time over the July 4th weekend when the island is full of tourists.
