SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Caddo Parish
Sheriff Steve Prator says a 33-year-old teacher at Port City Christian Academy
is accused of raping and sexually assaulting a mentally challenged 17-year-old
student.
He says Jeremy A. Pierce, of
Keithville, was arrested Wednesday at the school at Westview Christian Church
and booked on charges of aggravated rape, sexual battery, and prohibited sexual
conduct between educator and student. His bond is $750,000. It was not
immediately known whether Pierce has an attorney.
Detective James Moore, of Youth
Services Division, says Pierce allegedly touched the girl inappropriately many
times on the grounds of the school. He says Pierce allegedly used text messages
to call her out of class.
