Woman arrested in New Orleans for posting threats against Obama


New Orleans, La. - Federal agents in New Orleans arrested a California woman on charges of making threats against President Obama. 32-year-old Felisha Monet Mitchell of Palm Springs, California was arrested Thursday after she was caught posting threatening statements against Obama and the First Family on her Twitter and Facebook accounts.  

According to court documents, Mitchell posted numerous statements  from January 21st  through January 24th of this year. In an interview with United States Secret Service Agents, Mitchell reportedly admitted to posting the online threats using her cell phone while in New Orleans.

If convicted, Mitchell faces up to five years in prison for each charge and a fine of up to $250,000.
