New Orleans, La - The New Orleans Police Department is investigating the shooting of a John McDonogh High School student.

The shooting occurred Tuesday around 2:00 p.m. near the intersection of N. Broad St. And Esplanade Ave.

The victim was shot multiple times and is in critical condition.

School officials say the shooter was not a student at John McDonogh.
