FOX 8 received this news release from NOPD Wednesday afternoon:
Homicide
Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a 21-year-old
man. The Incident occurred around 3:45pm at the intersection of Monroe
and Nelson Street. The name of the victim is being withheld pending
notification of family members.
The
victim was found in silver Nissan Altima after crashing into a residence in the
8600 block of Nelson Street. The victim was shot multiple times and died on the
scene. A second unidentified man arrived at a Jefferson Parish hospital via
private conveyance after sustaining a gunshot wound to his body; he is
currently listed in stable condition.
Investigators
are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify
the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
Homicide
Detective Robert Barre is in charge of the investigation.
