New Orleans, La. – A man convicted of murdering a U.S. Marine gets sentenced to life in prison.

In December, jurors found Melvin Clay guilty of second degree murder in the death of Ryan Lekosky.

The murder happened on Halloween of 2010, as Lekosky and his wife were leaving a Marine ball in the French Quarter.

Prosecutors say Clay yelled at Lekosky's wife and when she confronted him, he got out of his car and pushed her to the ground.

Lekosky stepped in to help and Clay stabbed him seven times.
