One killed, another injured in afternoon shootings

New Orleans, La. - The NOPD is investigating two afternoon shootings that left one person dead and another injured.

The first shooting happened in the 1300 block of Florida Avenue just before 2pm. The victim was taken to the hospital. Their condition is unknown.

The second shooting happened just minutes later at the intersection of Marigny and North Claiborne.

Police say a man was shot multiple times and died on scene. The shooting happened behind an Auto Zone.
