New Orleans, La.- New Orleans Deputy Mayor of Operations resigned her post today, citing personal reasons.
Michelle Thomas was appointed to that position in July of 2011.
Now, just days after someone sent Mayor Landrieu and local news stations an email about her personal life, she is leaving city hall.
That email detailed her relationship with Gary Washington, who's facing drug and gun charges in New Orleans stemming from his August 2011 arrest.
Thomas and Washington bought a house together in New Orleans East in June of 2012.
Friday evening,Mayor Landrieu released a statement thanking Thomas for her service and wished her nothing but success.
Andy Kopplin will oversee the departments she previously managed.
