New Orleans, La.- A NOPD officer was shot Saturday morning in the 1100 block of Poland Avenue while responding to a robbery inside the Dollar General store.

The shooting happened around 7:15 a.m.

Investigators believe the suspect fled immediately after shooting towards the City down St. Claude.

The injured officer has been identified as John Passaro.
