Coastal tourism topic of conference

BRAITHWAITE, La. (AP) - An ecotourism workshop aimed at exploring potential business opportunities along the Gulf Coast will be held in Plaquemines Parish on March 12. 

Sponsored by the LSU AgCenter, Louisiana Sea Grant and Mississippi State University, the event will be held at Stella Plantation, 4881 Louisiana Highway 39, Braithwaite. 

Registration starts at 8 a.m., and the workshop will end at 3 p.m. 

The program is expected to be of interest to coastal landowners, farmers, charter fishing guides, marina owners and swamp tour operators, said LSU AgCenter agritourism coordinator Dora Ann Hatch.
