Port Sulphur, La. - The Coast Guard says a crew boat hit an inactive wellhead and is now leaking oily water into the Gulf.

The accident happened Tuesday night about nine miles southwest of Port Sulphur. Federal, state and local agencies are all responding to this accident. The wellhead's owner, Swift Energy, is also cooperating in trying to secure the well and clean up the oil spill.

The Coast Guard says the platform is leaking but they don't know how much just yet.

Swift Energy shut down the well and it's been inactive since December of 2007.
