FOX 8 received this news release from the New Orleans Police Dept. Wednesday evening:
This evening, New Orleans Police are investigating a shooting that left a 21-year-old man dead. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members.
Shortly after 5:00 P.M., in the 800 block of Belleville Street, officers located the victim lying on the front porch of a residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his body. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in the incident, as well as a motive.
