New Orleans, La. - A lot of locals will probably dispute the outcome of a new study that ranks people's sense of well-being.
According to the annual Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index, Louisiana ranks 43rd among all states. That's down from 36th place in the previous year's study.
Researchers measured people's sense of well-being by studying obesity rates, medical problems, overall job satisfaction, outlook on life and more.
According to the index, people in West Virginia have the worst sense of well-being. People in Mississippi are near the bottom, ranking 48th. People in Hawaii have the best sense of well-being.
