Metairie, La. - Louisiana State Police and Jefferson Parish fire crews are on scene of a mobile home fire at River Road and Causeway where a dump truck collided with a pick-up truck.
The driver of the dump truck lost control and struck the back of the home around 8:30am.
Authorities on scene tell FOX 8 that a good samaritan riding a bike nearby helped rescue a woman that was trapped inside the home. The good samaritan used a piece of concrete to break the glass door to get the woman out.
Her injuries are unknown.
A dog was killed in the accident due to smoke inhalation.
The driver of the pick-up truck was cited for failure to yield.
River Road is closed at Shrewsburry.
