DOTD announces I-10 lane closures in Metairie

FOX 8 received this news release from DOTD Monday afternoon:

Metairie, La - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces a series of overnight lane closures this week for I-10 in Metairie. Monday, March 4 from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the left lane of I-10 eastbound will be closed between Veterans Memorial Boulevard and Clearview Parkway. Tuesday through Thursday, March 5-7 from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the left lane of I-10 westbound will be closed between Clearview Parkway and Veterans Memorial Boulevard.

The lane closures will allow construction crews to continue work to widen this segment of I-10.

All planned construction activities are weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to drive with caution through this and other highway work zones. Also, be alert for the presence of construction workers and equipment.

Geaux Wider NOLA is a multi-year construction initiative to widen Interstate 10 from six to 10 lanes between Clearview Parkway and Veterans Memorial Boulevard. The project will increase capacity, improve safety and enhance mobility on this heavily traveled segment of I-10 in Jefferson Parish. For more information, visit http://www.geauxwidernola.com.
