Teens accused in Uptown rape and kidnapping plead not guilty

New Orleans, La. - Three teenagers accused in the aggravated rape, kidnapping and robbery of a Garden District woman in February pleaded not guilty Wednesday morning before Criminal Court judge Franz Ziblich.

Last week a grand jury indicted 15-year-old Sheldon Jefferson, 16-year-old Joseph Davis and 18-year-old Christopher Davis.

Each faces four counts of aggravate rape, one count of aggravated kidnapping and one count of armed robbery for a total of 6 felony charges each.

The teenagers allegedly forced a woman into a car a gunpoint drove her around for an hour beating and raping her before stealing her car.

All three are expected in court again Thursday.
