New Orleans, La.- American Idol judge Keith Urban offers up a compliment and a caution to Laplace native Breanna Steer after her Tuesday night performance in the show's semi-finals.

Steer sang Beyonce's "Flaws and All" to an enthusiastic audience reaction. But the judges were somewhat less enthusiastic.

Urban praised her past song choices while urging Steer to find her own style, "The only thing I would ask is if you get to go thru which I have a suspicion you will, that you find also a song that takes you more into your own place, because you have to be very careful to not try and be some other Beyonce. There's already Beyonce. I want to know who Breanna is and I know you can do that"

Judges Nicki Minaj and Randy Jackson also said she probably should have picked a different song. New Orleans native Burnell Taylor hopes to make the cut as the remaining men perform Wednesday night.

Television viewers' votes Tuesday and Wednesday night will determine which of the remaining 20 semi-finalists move on to the finals. You can learn more about the show's new app which allows you to cast 50 votes at once on American Idol's website. American Idol airs on WVUE FOX 8.
