Gerry Vaillancourt, or Gerry V. as he's affectionately called, currently anchors the FOX 8 Morning Edition from 5-9am and the Fox 8 News at Noon.

Before becoming a part of the Fox 8 team, "V" spent 21 years as an NBA Analyst for the Charlotte/New Orleans Hornets and hosted his own talk radio show "The Gerry V Show" on a variety of talk stations in Charlotte and New Orleans.  Vaillancourt won Talk Show Host of the year for three consecutive years in Charlotte.

His past broadcasting work also includes "The Post Game Show" on 1110 WBT Charlotte NC after all Carolina Panther games.

Vaillancourt spent time as a basketball coach before getting into broadcasting. An ex-Gardner-Webb University hoopster, "V" coached at Bishop McGuiness High School in Winston Salem NC, James Madison University, Davidson College and Appalachian State University. He also coached in the NBA Summer Pro Am league.

Vaillancourt spends a great deal of time participating in summer basketball clinics, motivational seminars and speaking publicly on the banquet circuit to various businesses and corporations.

He is also a former High School Psychology Instructor and  Marketing/Promotional rep for Converse working in the NYC area.

Vaillancourt also writes and submits podcasts for NOLA.com.

A New York City Native, Vaillancourt moved to New Orleans when the NBA Hornets moved from Charlotte NC. His wife Tracy is a New Orleans native and they reside in River Ridge, La.
