New Orleans, La - New Orleans Police Homicide Detectives are investigating a shooting that left one woman dead and one man injured. The incident occurred Sunday, just before 6:00 p.m. in the 500 block of South Solomon St. The names of the victims will be released once family members are notified.
Police say that both victims were traveling as passengers in a vehicle when someone opened fire on the vehicle, striking the woman in the chest and the man in the wrist. The driver, who was not shot, immediately drove both victims to a nearby hospital. The man is listed in stable condition, but the woman later died from her injuries.
