New Orleans, La. - The coroner's office in Orleans Parish has 18 months to cleanup its act.

A new report from the New Orleans Office of Inspector General shows the coroner's office made illegal supplemental payments to employees and contractors.

The payments, ranging from $200 to $2000, were made without documentation for the services performed.

Coroner Frank Minyard requested the review that led to these findings. Inspector General Ed Quatrevaux commends him for that. Minyard's office has already agreed to a list of corrections and a follow up review in about 18 months.
