New Orleans, La. -
Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that wounded two people and led to a traffic wreck that injured two others.
It happened shortly after 6:00 p.m. Monday at S. Derbigny Street and Washington Avenue.
A brief advisory statement from NOPD reads, "A 4-door blue car occupied by 4 males was at Washington and S. Claiborne when a truck pulled up and opened fire on the car. It appears the car then accelerated striking a light pole. As it stands now, we have one male with a gunshot wound to the leg and one male with a gunshot wound to the hand. The other two individuals in the vehicle appear to have sustained injuries as it relates to the crash."
Police say none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.
We have no information on potential suspects or the vehicle involved in the shooting.
Two eastbound lanes of S. Claiborne Avenue were blocked after the shooting, as police gathered information at the scene.
If you have any information on this incident, please call NOPD or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
