New Orleans, La - Firefighters with the Jefferson Parish Fire Department battled a two-alarm fire in Metairie. The fire is located at an apartment complex in the 3000 block of 7th St. Crews received the first call Wednesday just before 10:30 a.m.

A Jefferson Parish Fire spokesperson says that eight units in the complex have received extensive damage. The fire was put under control at 11:06 a.m. There are no reports of any injuries. The Red Cross will assist with the displaced families.
