FOX 8 received this news release from the Mayor's Office Wednesday afternoon:
Today,
the City of New Orleans issued parking instructions and reminders in advance of
the St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 16, 2013.
Starting
at 1:00 p.m., the parade begins at Magazine Street at Race Street, proceeding
in an Uptown direction on Magazine Street to Jackson Avenue. Turning right onto
Jackson Avenue and proceeding Lake-bound on Jackson Avenue with traffic to St.
Charles Avenue. The parade will turn left onto St. Charles Avenue and proceed
against traffic on St. Charles Avenue to Louisiana Avenue. Turning left at
Louisiana Avenue, the parade will proceed River-bound on Louisiana Avenue with
traffic to Magazine Street. The parade will turn left onto Magazine Street and
proceed in a Downtown-direction to Jackson Avenue where the parade will
disband.
Parking
enforcement personnel will be monitoring for illegal parking, including
blocking hydrants, driveways and sidewalks, or parking within 20 feet of a
crosswalk, intersection or stop signs. Motorists are also reminded to park in
the direction of travel on one-way streets, and with the right wheel to the
curb on two-way streets.

addition, RTA services, including both streetcar lines and bus service will be
