Chalmette, La.- Police discovered a 33-year-old man shot to death on a street
in an industrial area off Paris Road in Chalmette Sunday morning.
Police say the man was found around 7:30 a.m. when a driver called police
to report a man lying along a street several blocks east of Paris Road near the
New Orleans line.
The victim was shot multiple times and appeared to have been dead for
several hours. Investigators say it appears he had been shot at the scene based
on evidence found there, including bullet casings.
Investigators don't believe the man had ties to St. Bernard Parish.
Investigators say the man had an identification card on him showing an
address in Jefferson Parish, but authorities said they didn't believe it was
current.
The victim's identity has not been released pending notification of
family members.
