Baton Rouge, La - An SUV that was carrying Governor Bobby Jindal was side-swiped by a "box" rental truck making an illegal u-turn. The accident occurred Sunday at 5:00 p.m. on Nicholson Drive just south of Downtown Baton Rouge.

Police say that the driver of the "box" truck made an illegal u-turn and side-swiped the Governor's SUV as it was traveling north on Nicholson Drive. Neither the Governor nor the driver of the SUV was injured in the crash. A second SUV that was traveling with the Governor's, made an evasive maneuver and struck a utility pole. The driver of the second SUV received minor injuries.

A Louisiana State Police Troop A Supervisor is investigating the crash, which is departmental policy when a fleet vehicle is involved in a crash. The driver of the "box" truck, who was uninjured, was cited for Improper Turn.
