Metairie, La. - The priest at St. Clement of Rome Church in Metairie was held up at gunpoint and attacked with a crowbar Sunday night, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.
The priest told authorities that he was sitting in his office at 4317 Richland around 10:30pm when two armed suspects approached him and demanded he open the safe.
The priest attempted to open it, but was unsuccessful.
That's when one of the suspects struck the priest with a crowbar. The suspects fled the scene without any money.
The priest was treated for minor injuries.
The first suspect is described as a black male between 5' 2" and 5' 8". He was wearing a black hooded shirt and white bandana partially covering his face.
The second suspect is described as a black male between 6 feet and 6'4"weighing 250 pounds and also wearing a black hoodie and a bandana on his face.
