Teachers' contribution raises Monette reward to $5,500

New Orleans, La. - Crimestoppers has announced that it has raised the reward for information that can help find missing teacher Terrilynn Monette.

The reward is now $5,500, following the contributions of $2,000 by the Jefferson Federation of Teachers and the American Federation of Teachers.

The 26-year-old woman disappeared almost three weeks ago, last seen leaving a parking lot near Parlay's Bar in Lakeview. She was driving a 2012 black Honda Accord with Louisiana license plate number WUN 494.

Thursday's reward increase follows the suspension of search activities by the Texas Equusearch firm.  The New Orleans Police Dept. addressed the suspension in an advisory to news media Thursday:

Texas Equusearch Search and Recovery Team has met with negative results and has searched Bayou St. John and the Lagoons in City Park for Terrilynn's vehicle and suspended its operation.  NOPD will continue to search for Terrilynn Monette and is asking that media continue to air her disappearance.  NOPD will continue to update media when updates become available.
