Gert Town shooting leaves two men dead


New Orleans, La - New Orleans Police Homicide Detectives are investigating a shooting that left two men dead. The incident occurred Sunday around 8:30 p.m. in the 3500 block of Audubon Court. The names of the victims will be released once family members are notified.

According to police, responding officer arrived at the Audubon Ct. scene and found a 19-year-old man suffering from one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Shortly thereafter, detectives located a second victim a few blocks away at the intersection of Broadway Street and Washington Avenue. The 53-year-old man was found inside of a vehicle that crashed into a building. He was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on the scene. Detectives believe that he traveled only a short distance before losing consciousness.
